Welcome

Photo: Cramond Beach on a winter's day with Lou. (Please excuse my appearance, it was an impulse training session at the beach where I knew I would get rather wet and muddy).

Welcome to P.A.W.S. Hunter Behavioural Dog Training.

I specialise in offering bespoke training specifically tailored to your dog's unique situation. My approach is to focus on understanding the root cause of the behaviour. Then implement a training program to modify the behaviour, as well as look at the whole picture and aid you in bringing balance back to your dog mentally and physically. Resulting in a well balanced home for your dog and your family. My techniques are positive based (no aversive techniques are used).

We always set up for success, and never punish the dog if they don’t succeed (that means we went too quickly). We are training behaviours, increasing their confidence and developing our bond with them. My background page with give you an insight into my history with dogs, especially nervous/reactive and rescue dogs.

My Qualifications:

Canine Behaviour Professional Accredited Diploma (DipHE)

Canine First Aid Diploma

Approved Canine Reactivity Expert

Approved Canine Nutrition and Wellness Expert

BSc Psychology 2:1 (Hons)

Alongside a multitude of CPD seminars and courses.

What is the behavioural training process?

The first step is a consultation call - a free 20/30 minute call where we discuss the behaviours your dog is presenting, their history, my training aproaches. This allows you to ask any questions and work out if I am the right trainer for you and your dog.

A 1-2-1 Behavioural Assessment and intial session is held at your location. This typically takes between 60 and 90 mins.

A full written behavioural report is given alongside your bespoke training plan.

On-going support given with your own Whatsapp Training chat where other members can be added: family, dog walkers, sitters etc.

Email and calls are available as well.

No hidden costs.

What does it cost?

Every dogs circumstances are individual. Therefore there is no set number of sessions required. Some dogs and owners need a single session and support, others need a more intensive approach and some need 3 to 4 sessions over a 6 month period.  In the free consulation call I can provide a more accurate estimate.

I operate a flat fee for 1-2-1 in person  sessions of £70.

Follow up sessions typically last 1 hour. However, if dealing with a multiple dog house hold this may take longer in order to give each dog enough time.
