I have devised this program to utilise positive training methods to neutralise your dogs fear of the sound of fireworks and create new neural pathways to associate the sound with something positive, not fear. Depending on your dog and their sensitivity will depend on how long this program will take. It is essential to do this at your dogs pace. It is not a wave of a magic wand and the problem is fixed. I truly wish it was, but with time and patience we can get your dog to a level they can cope with the sounds. The sounds of fireworks have been broken down into different tracks to achieve the greatest level of desensitisation we can. House visits involve environmental checks in the form of things you can do to dampen the sound specific to your home. I will run the initial desensitisation with you and establish the base level for you and be able to monitor your dog's body language/behaviours. I will also show you in person how to do TTouch Massage. For virtual or seminars we will discuss these details. This program breaks down what your dog is experiencing mentally and physically when they hear fireworks. Techniques, environmental changes and alternative therapies that you can use to help them cope with the stress until you complete the program. The program itself is broken into three main sections: Desensitisation and two phases of counter conditioning. The program has been specifically curated in order to not overwhelm your dog or risk invoking high levels of stress which can increase their fear. The initial session is 60 mins in which i will talk you through all the steps of the program as well as all the other contributing factors.
